Parish Plan
The Preston Brook Parish Plan was completed in October 2005 and copies were sent to every household in the Parish. The aims of The Plan were put together using the information taken from the responses to an eight page questionnaire sent out to every household and responded to by over 75% of households.
The aim of The Plan is to improve the environment and services within the Parish. These aims were divided into categories and individual members of the Parish Plan Steering Group are working with groups of residents to help to co-ordinate activities, look into ways of rising interest, support, help and funding, where necessary, to achieve their specific goals.
The categories and contact details of the Steering Group coordinators are as follows: -

As a result of The Plan this website, a bi monthly Village News Letter (copies of which can be found on this web site) and three notice boards have been set up to keep residents up to date on news, activities and services that relate to Preston Brook, Preston on the Hill and Dutton.
One group of residents have got together to organise a number of social activities. A very successful May Fayre Disco was held and is to be followed by a Halloween Disco and a New Years Eve Disco. Family walks have been organised by another resident and have been very popular. Another group of residents who were looking at the possibility of having a pub in the village are now looking at the feasibility of putting a first floor extension on the Village Hall to provide a lounge bar area which can also be used as a small meeting room.
A Halton Watch scheme has been set up to help with the prevention of crime in the parish. Planters have been placed along the A56 Chester Road through village to give a splash of seasonal colour in the village. A full colour map and history information board has been installed on the Bridgwater Canal opposite Claymoore Boat Hire and work is about to start on the reclamation of the unkempt land on the corner off Chester Road and Sandy Lane to provide a landscaped garden for the centre of the village.
Thanks to everybody who has helped so far there is still a lot more to do. Your support would be welcomed, there plenty more to do, so please drop one of us an email, and join us and your fellow residents in making Preston Brook, Preston on the Hill and Dutton a more pleasant and safer place and one we can all enjoy to live in.
